{ Day 7: Organizing your Purse/Diaper Bag and Car }

I don't know about any of you, but I can never find anything in my purse. It is even worse in my diaper bag. Between snacks, pacifiers, diapers, keys, and toys I am f-o-r-e-v-e-r searching for my wallet at the cash register!

So, I am passing on some great things that I have found to help make our shopping lives a little easier... because quite frankly, who doesn't love to shop, even if it's just a quick trip to Target for diapers. {I always walk around the store just looking at everything else}

Here are some of my favorite things when it comes to purse/diaper bag organizing:

This purse organizer can be found here at Divide and Conquer's Etsy shop for $27.95.  What's so great about it? Well, if you are the kind of person who has several different purses or diaper bags, and you are tired of having to unload the contents of your purse and reload them in another... this little cutie will make your life a lot easier. You load all of your things into this. Then when you want to change purses, simply lift the entire thing out of your current purse, and drop it into your new one.
If you have a purse that is seriously lacking in pocket space, this could be a life saver! This particular shop offers a variety of styles and sizes for their purse organizers so that you can find the one that works for you!

How about a little notepad and pen holder? I always have to dig around in my purse for a pen and an old receipt to jot down a note or a phone number. This Mini List Taker by Maya's Kalupi keeps everything together so you can easily find it. The list taker even comes with a little pocket... perfect for your calculator, ipod, coupons, business cards, or whatever else you want. The patterns they have on their list takers are too cute for words and at only $9.50 they are totally affordable!

This cutie is called the Ouch Pouch. It is sold by Pillow So Cute. It comes in 3 different sizes and has enough room to carry your essential first aid items for either your purse or diaper bag. The see through front lets you see exactly what's inside so you know when it is time to replenish supplies. PLUS, you have everything together in one place... no more fishing around the bottom of your bag to find a band aid! They also sell Epipen pouches that are the perfect size for 2 epipens and benedryl packets!

Keep your diapers and wipes organized in either your diaper bag or your purse! I made one of these myself... it's not as cute as these ones are, but it is functional. Dilly Baby sells this Change 'N Go Changing Set for $24. It is large enough to hold a couple diapers, a wipes case, and has a pocket on the back to hold the changing pad {included in the price}. As much as I love sewing and trying to figure out my own patterns for things, sometimes it's just easier to buy it!

Dilly Baby also has these cute list organizers. It is called the Organized Genius.

For $18 this little notepad holder has Velcro closures so that your items don't fall out {great for a diaper bag that gets thrown around a lot}. Something like this would be GREAT in the car -- which leads me to the second half of this post... how to organize your car!

For any of you DIY-er's this is a great one for you!

For $6.50 you can purchase the PDF pattern to make this car seat organizer. These are especially great if you have more than 1 child. Each child can have their own car seat organizer for their own stuff. My kids are constantly fighting over the books, and toys in the car. This way, they each have their own!

Do you have a trash bag in your car? They come in so many cute styles and patterns now. Or, you can make your own! This one comes from the Container Store. Keeping a bag in your car for trash makes a HUGE difference! You will find that you don't have to clean out the inside of your car as often {huge bonus} because the trash is neatly in it's place. If you place a plastic shopping bag or other trash bag in your trash can, it is so easy to just pop it out and throw the trash away!

Always make sure you keep essential emergency supplies in your car, just in case! Small containers or storage bins work well for these items. You want to make sure you keep the following in your car:
• water
• first aid kit
• blanket
• extra walking shoes
• jacket
• non-perishable snacks

If you are ever stuck somewhere - in a storm, natural disaster, etc. - you want to be prepared!

Hope this helps!! I would love to hear your tips and tricks for keeping your purse, diaper bag, or car organized. Leave me a comment and share your tips with us all!

{ I was in no way compensated by any of these companies. I love Etsy and the great things that people have to offer. As a small business owner myself, I also like to support other small business owners.}

  1. Every car should have the over the seat trash bag... should be a staple! I love the concept of the purse organizer; I'm always switching out handbags.... I'll have to check out Etsy.

I've had a few before that go underneath the car seat and nothing is within reach for my little guy. This owuld be much better.
