One of the toughest decisions... ever... with a silver lining!

This has been one of the toughest decisions I have had to make. After almost 2 years (and close to 600 sales) I am closing shop for a while. One of my biggest dreams as a kid (and teenager, and young adult) was to be a mom. I wanted nothing more than to raise, teach, and love my future children. Now that I am a mom, I find that the struggles of juggling my time between work, kids, church, and family responsibilities is causing problems.

I feel like I am stressed out ALL THE TIME, and we all know that when mom is stressed... everyone suffers. I have been thinking (and praying) about this decision on and off for 6+ months. Tonight, I made that decision.

Last week I sat down with my 4 year old and asked her, "How would you feel if mommy stopped working?". Her answer was simple, and impactful. "I would love it. Then you could play with us!"

So, what now!? I am going to be MOM for a while. I am finishing up the few outstanding orders I have left. Then, when I have time, I will continue to sew and create new products. Hopefully I will reopen in about a month... once priorities have been set straight and the "work" stuff has been streamlined.

I will continue to post tutorials, freebies, recipes, and all that fun stuff here on the blog... probably once or twice a week... but I promise, they will be good. I won't be rushing to get them up between answering emails and filling Etsy orders anymore.

Since I am a crafter at heart, I can't stop completely! I will be taking some custom orders as my schedule allows. Please feel free to email me if there is something you saw in my shop that you are dying to have!

In the meantime, the business owner is checking out, and the MOM is checking in!

  1. Hope you get the rest you need and enjoy the extra time with your family and being a mom. Sometimes, we lose track of the important things and need to take a time out to get back on the right track.
